It's interesting to think about how alien's mind would work compared to ours. Our minds evolved from a million year deep Darwinian corpse pile, so survival and such is engraved deeply into our system. It's our core programming. What all our subsequent desires, feelings, emotions are built around.
It would be fascinating to meet a fully conscious/self-aware mind with a fundamentally different core programming.
Of course, that is assuming that the A.I. wasn't created using the easiest way we can currently fathom: making a digital neural network based on a human brain, and simulating that. That would also be an AI... but, eh, sounds boring.
Of course, a digital human mind would evolve over time and probably become more alien to us, especially the more processing power it would gain, but something fundamentally completely alien at the core sounds much more engaging.
