Sengoku Jidai

I am a person who loves to learn about history. I admire the warriors and read the documents about them. Sengoku is one of my favorite historical times.

Sengoku is a wartime period in Japan that is the moment of the social transformations, the most recent geometry, and near as the conflict of military conflict in Japan, starting from between 15th century to between 16th century.
After a century of war and political instability, Japan was almost unified by Oda Nobunaga, a middle-class warlord in the province of Owari (now Aichi Prefecture) dominating central Japan.

However, in 1582 Nobunaga became the victim of his own betrayal, Akechi Mitsuhide.

This gave Toyotomi Hideyoshi, another Nobunaga general, a lead in punishing Akechi and becoming his successor.

When Hideyoshi died in 1598 without a potential successor, the country once again fell into power struggle, and this time Tokugawa Ieyasu took advantage of the opportunity.

Hideyoshi in the hospital bed assigned a group of the most powerful warlords in Japan - Tokugawa, Maeda, Ukita, Uesugi, Mori - to form the Elderly Council until his son, Hideyori, grows up.
A fake peace ensued after the death of Maeda Toshiie in 1599. Soon after, Ishida Mitsunari accused Ieyasu of not being loyal to the Toyotomi clan, hastily creating a crisis and leading to the battle of Sekigahara.
Often considered the last major war of the Warring States, Ieyasu's victory in Sekigahara ended the dominance of the Toyotomi dynasty. Three years later, Ieyasu received the title of "Major General," and established the last Shogunate in Japan (Tokugawa shogunate), to the Meiji Restoration in 1868.
