WHAT IS SURROGACY
Surrogacy is a contract based of practicing childbearing in which a woman gives birth to a child not her own, but with the intention to give the child up to the biological parents. This is practiced in some part of the world in some cases where the Husband doesn't want to lose the body shape of his wife due to childbearing, or a cause of infertility among couples or in a case where the body of the wife is too old to grow a baby or based on medical conditions.
Surogacy is a method or agreement where by a woman agrees to carry a pregnancy for another person or persons, who will become the newborn child's parent(s) after birth. A surrogate mother is a woman who carries a foetus and bears a child on behalf of commissioning couples having agreed to surrender the child to that parent(s) at birth or shortly thereafter.
A woman who carries a child in pursuance of arrangement made before she began to carry the child and with a view to any child carried in pursuance of it being handed over to, and the parental right being exercised. Surrogacy as an alternative to or treatment for infertility has increased in the past two decades.
PROCESS INVOLVE IN SURROGACY
- Request for surrogate mother and IVF Treatment
- KIC will screen and help you select egg donor and surrogate mother
- KIC appointed lawyers will provide the legal agreement between intended parent and surrogate mother
- Embryo Transfer with the help of professional doctor
- KIC will take care of surrogate's accommodation, medicines and health checkup
- KIC will do its best to ensure a healthy pregnancy and birth.

Under this Act, the definition of the leagal father depends upon other factor
- If the surrogate mother mother is married, then her husband is the legal father
- If the surrogate mother has a partner he is the legal father, unlesss he can prove that he did not consent in treatment
- If the surrogate mother is single and treatment did not take place at a center licenced is a promblem
- The surrogate mother should be well taking care as promised before the contract
- The surrogate mother has the right to decide where she will stay before the birth
- The surrogate mother must avoid sex doing this period until after birth.

Health Factors
Alot of Health issues affect the surrogate mother before or after the pregnancy, but the health issues here has to do with the health status of the surrogate mother before the contract. In general she must be free from complicating factors of STDs, human immune deficiency virus (HIV), Cytomegalovirus(CMV) and Hepatitis B and C Viruses (HBC and HCV).

- In addition to the potential complications associated with fertility treatment and pregnancy both the intended parent and surrogate mother may experience Emotional and Phychological issues before, or after birth.
- They might be child lost as a result of nature which might lead to court issues.
- They might be change in arrangement between intended parent and surrogate mother.
- The surrogate mother might want to claim the child after birth based on the pains she might have passed through.
