Powerful as hundreds of galaxies: the mistery of the Quasar

We are at the begginning of the 60s, the result of some observations with a radio telescope reveals that there are some unkown "objects" in the universe with an energy that the humanity has never seen before.
The problem is that the great distance between Earth and these objects entail so high brightness for which no known process at the moment, including nuclear fusion, produces the necessary energy.
So the questions are: are they really so far? How can they be so energetic?
Some scientists say that they are white holes, others say that they are composed by antimatter, but then finally during the 80s we nave the first theories for the nature of these phenomenons.

The brightness that they produce is caused by the friction of gasses and powders that are falling into a supermassive black hole; this follows that half of the matter will be transformed into energy.
However we still don't exactly know how this process works, but we have some clues that are showing us the veracity of the theory .
For example we know that Quasars were most cummon in the Primitive Universe, in fact they will "die" when the black hole has consumed all the gas and the stars around him.
That means that our Galaxy, the Milky Way, and all the other inactive galaxies could have been an active galaxy (Quasar), but now they are quiescent because of the lack of matter for the black hole (yeah in the center of our galaxy there is a supermassive black hole).
We know also that a Quasar can be activated again if some matter is pulled into the center of the galaxy.

So, what do you think about the Quasar? It's very interesting and misterious, isn't it? Tell me what you think in the comments I will be happy to have any discussions :)
