If you're like me and you like to read the source studies referenced in popsci articles, or you're a student doing research, you probably have bumped up against more paywalls that you couldn't afford than the average bear. Google Scholar is great, but less so if you can't read the articles! That's why I was excited to learn about this new browser extension, unpaywall:
It's totally legal and searches for open source versions of the same article you're reading. I can't claim to have tried it yet, because browser extensions aren't really a thing on Kindles, but I'm getting a laptop for my birthday (!!! I haven't had a laptop in years, I'm so excited), so I'll be checking it out then!
