Geologist at the University of Witwatersrand claim these Mysterious rocks made of tiny diamonds known as the Hypatia stones were formed before our solar system existed.
Because of the rocks odd mixture of metals and its carbon-rich interstellar dust it is highly unlikely that it was formed after our solar system started to take shape, making them extremely ancient.
"This occurrence is extremely rare on Earth
and the rest of our solar system, as far as is
known in science,"
co-author Georgy Belyanin, a geologist at
the University of Johannesburg in South
Africa.
