Everyone likes to have a pleasant smell mainly when we are close to other people, for that reason since ancient times man began to make perfumes using plants, herbs, and aromatic flowers. The perfume is an external attachment that allows the person to be pleasant to the nose of others.
Each person likes to have a different fragrance from others, which distinguishes and gives a personal touch, for this the perfume industry has grown so much, have developed so many brands with different formulas, and each brand has diversified with a great variety of fragrances, trying to satisfy the demands of so many people looking for different scents.
But it is interesting to know that the Bible shows us that God also perceives a particular smell of each person in this world, but with a very different concept to the criterion that human beings have.
THE PERFUME THAT GOD RECEIVES FROM EACH PERSON IS RELATED TO OUR WORSHIP: God is pleased with the person who presents him with adoration in obedience, with gratitude of heart and repentance
THE FRAGRANCE THAT GOD PERCEIVES FROM EACH PERSON IS RELATED TO JESUS CHRIST TO THE SACRIFICE OF CHRIST ON THE CROSS WAS OF NICE FRAGRANCE TO GOD
Ephesians 5: 2, "2 And walk in love, as Christ also loved us, and gave himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God in a fragrant odor"
Jesus Christ was the male lamb without defect that surrendered to be sacrificed as a payment for the sins of humanity. Today God does not ask for animal sacrifices, or any other kind. He wants us to present our lives as a holy and pleasant offering or sacrifice.
The word "smell" means fragrance or aroma, God spreads the odor of his word through the believers, the message that God is willing to save every person who believes in Jesus Christ.
The smell of the knowledge of Christ, like the fragrance of the carnation, is easily detected by those who are saved, because they have a heart ready to receive the message. Wherever the faithful believer spreads the scent of life and death, the message that men can find eternal life in Christ Jesus, or conversely the message that men without Jesus Christ will die and be separated from God for eternity. In those who are saved, God perceives through the believer the scent of Christ with the fragrance of life for eternal life.
