What the heck happened to steemit?

What in the heck happened here? I’ve been absent from steemit for quite a while and now I see Hive? And Hive backed dollar? Points on the app? I’m really confused as to what happened here. Is it still called steemit? What happened to steem and sbd? Oh gosh I have so many questions!!
