A Santa Cruz institution: The Great Morgani, stockbroker turned awesome costumed accordionist

This accordionist is costumed

Not just any old costume but each one home-made by 'The Great Morgani' himself, and each costume encompasses his accordion, that's right; the accordion is built into the actual costume.

Plus, you never actually see his face (which is also encapsulated into the costume), but you can feel he's a warm, friendly character (kids watch for him on Pacific Avenue downtown and delight in every encounter).

I want you to know about this man, "The Great Morgani Accordionist Extraordinaire, Frank Lima, Accordion Player, Musician, Performer, Performing Artist , Costumed Musician, Professional Accordion Player, Performance Artist.." I want you to know about him because he was formerly a stockbroker, from the age of 18-35..... But at some point in his stuffy fiscally responsible grown-ups employ, he threw the telephone across the room...pivot..... radically changed his career (and not to one that any career guidance counselor might have come up with).

Well, he's delighted Santa Cruzans and visitors alike now for over 20 years..... Yup, that's right through the stock market crash... and he didn't feel a thing!!

"Enjoy this excellent performance by The Great Morgani in one of his 132 costumes using one of his 42 accordions playing "Speak Softly" (from the Godfather). This is him performing at the Silicon Valley Accordion Society Club meeting on March 3, 2012 in San Jose, CA."

For more costumes, see The Great Morgani website on which he will tell you,

"I play everything...

except ‘Lady of Spain’ and Metallica."*

Oh and... there's a book, available from our local independent bookstore, Bookshop Santa Cruz: "The Great Morgani: The Creative Madness of a Middle-Aged Stockbroker Turned Street Musician"

I just wanted to say

thank-you-140227__340.jpg*

To one irrepressible {buoyant and perrenially effervescent} Santa Cruz dude!

Enjoy!!
