Top Things To Do In San Blas, Mexico, Contributed by @TangerineTravels

If you find yourself in the small oceanside fishing village of San Blas, Nayarit, Mexico, there are quite a few things you can do for it being such a small town.

La Tovara Springs

For about $10 USD, you can take a several-hour guided boat trip along a river where you'll see turtles, crocodiles, and a wide variety of birds. You'll have a guide that's skilled at spotting the wildlife and able to bring you close enough to snap some great photos.

If you want the experience of a true trip into the jungle, consider La Tovara. At the end of your boat ride, you'll have the opportunity to swim in crystal-clear waters. Additionally, it is rumored that some get the opportunity to swim with an (allegedly) tame crocodile.

Be sure to bring your insect repellant and sunscreen for La Tovara or else you'll wish you had some. It's advisable to take your tour as early as possible for the chance to see the most wildlife.

Playa El Borrego (El Borrego Beach)

El Borrego used to be well-known for its great surfing and its mile-long break, but unfortunately, some major storms have changed the surfing conditions on El Borrego. It's still a fine surfing destination, but not world-class like it used to be.

The first thing you'll notice about El Borrego is how big it is! This beach is enormous due to its very gentle slope. The beach is also excellent for playing in the water and swimming.

Once you've soaked up enough sun, head to one of the many restaurants along the beach for a fresh cocktail and some great seafood!

La Islitas

If the waves are too large for your liking at El Borrego, head on over to Las Islitas. You'll find gentler waves, calmer waters, a beautiful beach, and panaderos!

These vendors will try to sell you banana bread, empanadas, coconut candies, and many other things. They'll be undercutting each other and you'll find yourself getting some great deals.

You'll also find cheaper drinks at La Islitas than Borrego. At Borrego, a beer will run you about 20 pesos, whereas it'll be about 15 pesos at La Islitas.

If you end up vacationing in the beautiful town of San Blas and are looking for some things to do, start with this list.
