In this video, I take you with us on an upwind leg at the j-fest regatta on a J27. We normally crew this with 4 people for the regattas and I am the trimmer/grinder/beer drinker. The wind was high and you might see we are flying the number 3 jib which is use when the number 1 would provide too much power. We cross the lines over the cabin top and hike like nuts.
This was my first trip with the go-pro and i didn't use the head mount for the camera as I was sure it was going to get knocked into the water on a puff or by some other accident in the high wind. So, it was in hand when one was available, and in my teeth when one was not.
The song is by my band Curses! and is entitled Take Flight. I play guitar and sing some backing vocals.
