Denmark, Switzerland and the other eight safer countries in the world

The Global Peace Index for 2016 has recently been published by the Institute for Economics and Peace, and has revealed the safest states in the world.

The tenth edition of this report, which was released on June 8, has estimated 163 states based on peace levels and has thus compiled a list of the safest states in the world, Telegraph reports.

Each state is rated with a grade of 5 in terms of peace (the smaller the grade, the higher the level of peace), and has measured the level of security in society, violent and international conflicts, militarization, etc.

Apparently, Iceland has taken the title of the safest state in the world. With a score of 1,192, this European country is ranked first because there is a lack of international violence and conflicts, and society also prevails in peace.

Denmark is ranked second with a score of 1,246, while Austria has ranked third in terms of the world's largest security states, with a score of 1,278.

This is the list of the ten safest states in the world:

  • Iceland: 1.192
  • Denmark: 1.246

  • Austria: 1.278

  • New Zealand 1.287

  • Portugal: 1.356

  • Czech Republic: 1.36

  • Switzerland: 1.37
