Watch: This Robot Just Solved a Rubik’s Cube in 0.38 Seconds

Yes, that's a new world record.

The previous fastest time a robot could solve a Rubik’s cube puzzle was 0.637 seconds, which was set by German engineer Albert Beer and his robot Sub1 Reloaded. This new record-setting robot was built by two Massachusetts Institute of Technology students, who one day realized that they could solve the Rubik’s cube much faster by using a different kind of motor for their robot. It used two PlayStation Eye cameras from an old PlayStation 3 gaming console.
