Risotto in Ascona

Our first night in Ascona after the visit to the Valle Verzasca we followed the advice of the girl at the reception for a more original and regional restaurant that was not right at the lake. The view might be better in the other ones but out of experience its mostly better to go in the back streets for a cheaper and better dining experience.

So this is what we did and we ended up in Osteria Ketty & Tommy a little bit back from the busy tourist centre and we did not regret that one minute.

My wife had a flaming risotto with shrimp and it tasted absolutely amazing. They flambeed the risotto in a cheese wheel with a local grappa giving it a bit of the taste and none of the alcohol. (check out the video)
I had a black pizza where they added active charcoal to the dough as a cool effect. Now i am often a pizza barbarian and have the Hawaii but could not bring myself to order it so Napoli it was.
