Newsong is a Christian Rock band that began in the early 1980s and would go on to inspire many other Christian bands. The band won several Dove awards for their Christian music and created movies and musicals based upon their Christmas album "Christmas Shoes".
Newsong began at the time when Christian Rock was taking off in America. Bands including DC Talk and Newsboys were beginning around the time Newsong started up. This band was part of the establishment of modern and progressive Christian Rock and broke through into the mainstream in 2003 when their music from their album "Christmas Shoes" was used to create a series of films and a musical. The "Christmas Shoes" album and resultant media from this venture are worth watching during the holiday season.
Amazingly, the band is still performing and active despite the tragic death of Eric Middleton in 2021. The band has been perfect for over four decades, and their production values are very high. Their breakthrough came from their Christmas music album released in the early 2000s after almost two decades in the music industry. MercyMe had released "I Can Only Image" in 1999, which sparked real interest in Christian music by more mainstream audiences.
I am a huge fan of Newsong, and hope you take some time to listen to their song "One True God" in the YouTube video above. Their positive and uplifting sound along with their skilled instrumental track is impressive and they have helped many to find Christ. I highly recommend this band if you're a fan of DC Talk and Newsboys. The band has a progressive Rock sound and the messages and tracks are impressive.

I recommend investing into record staking for Starbits along with investing time into playing music missions. Don't neglect music lessons even though they don't pay Starbits, but can reduce the ego score to increase Starbits yield over time. It's important to keep your focus when playing Rising Star and be mission and lesson aware when planning your claiming cadence for the day.
