This is the current state of our union.
The inflation is being centralized pretty hard.
It is going into mostly strong hands, not much worry there.
I don't see anybody on the list trying to tank the hive price, that I am aware of.
What does worry me is that there is a tipping point that will occur that will require the price to drop to pennies in order to attract new external investment.
Nobody, that does the math, makes the largest holders of hive sooo rich that they dwarf the gdp's of small nations.
Vanity won't let them.
This is not all bad, but easily avoided by not centralizing hive in the first place.
'But, anti, what about all the people that need their rewards to eat?'
If we continue to centralize the stake, absent a killer dapp, the price will have to drop to attract new outside investment, what about those folks then?
To finally find the road to economic freedom only to have it pulled out from under them by greedy folks that couldn't satiate themselves?
Very demoralizing.
And, let's put this question to rest.
What were those folks doing to eat the week before they found the hive?
They were eating then too, yes?
Hive is a golden goose.
It gives away wealth for a time investment.
It rewards those that save what the community gives them.
We really do owe something to most of the folks on that list for this opportunity, but we don't owe it to them to continue to hold us back.
If you are earning hive here it is because (or in spite) of some of those names on that list.
If you are dumping that hive, you are harming us all.
Centralizing the coin is the crippling of hive.

I would love to see it reach parity with hive.
It is the same technically as hive, both secure cryptocurrencies with no transaction fees and the chance to earn by investing effort.

I really don't see it happening, at least not any time soon.
The same holds true for hive.
Most of the people on the top earner's list above are not malicious to the hive, but no matter how much we like them, making them each richer than europe and sw asia combined is a likely drag on outside investment.
Why would any person capable of having the math done for them buy into a system where the majority of the inflation goes to very people they have to buy that inflation from?
That would be sinking money into a black hole.
What self-respecting poverty fearing billionaire crapitalust does that?
Until it takes 1000 accounts to add up to 50% of the pool, we are headed in the wrong direction, imo.
If you find that you agree with this assessment there are some things you can do.
Go to hive.vote and start following the xtrails.
Set a dust vote amount to register your discontent with what is happening.
No way to win this dispute with power, we will have to apply politics.

There is no guarantee of success, only continued struggle to free ourselves from the influence of people that obviously care more about themselves than the general well being of us all. (Not all bad.)

You could also adjust your upvoting patterns.
Upvoting 'crap' content is just as bad as downvoting 'good' content.
My personal rule is to not vote any posts with more than 10hbd in payout.
1.4hbd is the median payout.
If you vote posts with less than that in payout you help equalize the pool.
If you vote posts with more than that you are insuring that the top half stays dominant.
If you vote rewards to those that dump them you are harming us all.
The whales are the ones keeping the price from dropping to pennies now, it shows in the charts from arcange that the whales are growing in hp held percentages.
Lord knows what is happening on the exchanges.
1/3 of hive is held pseudo-anonymously on them.
This is an aspect of stake holding few take notice of, that I can tell.
Everybody just mindlessly votes the same popular content creators as if that was how to bootstrap a cryptocurrency.
IF you weren't aware, bootstrapping hive to currency status is what we are doing here.
We mine this coin with our activities on the chain.
We strengthen the coin when we buy stuff from other hivizens using it.
Decentralizing the coin is essential to our success as a currency.
Again, nobody in their right mind is trying to set up the next rotschild/rockerfeller dynasty by buying hive.
We are, mostly, just trying to escape an enslavement by the crapitalust banksters that is centuries old.
