Duck Tales is a single player side-scrolling platformer, where you play as Scrooge McDuck roaming the world in search for new treasure. The game consists of 5 different stages, raging from Amazonas, to Himalaya, The moon, Transylvania and African Mines - all with their unique enemies, music, boss and treasure. In order to complete a stage, you have to find the boss - and defeat it in order to claim the treasure.
The music is cathing, and while I remebered the game to be really easy - I actually needed several attemps 25 years later. You have only got three lives at the beginning of the game, and while you can find more arround the world - you will be forced to start all over if you run out of lives.
One thing that makes this game stand out, is the sense of freedom. You can initially play the stages in any order you want - however, you will come across some items in one location, needed to proceed in another location. This is a nice twist, and along with the fact that the stages requires exploration both horizontally and vertically - the game has more freedom than most platformers from its time.

In my 3rd attempt, I managed to finish the game, in arround 1 hour - perfect for one sitting, which is required since there are no way of continuing if you power down. I honestly enjoyed my playtrough, and even tough the graphics are dated - the controls are responsive and good, and the gameplay still holds up well.
