Elvira II (Commodore 64)

Elvira II is a horror themed role-playing game staring Elvira and you, as her boyfriend, released in 1992. The game was available for the Amiga, Atari ST, DOS and the Commodore 64.

Elvira II generally got very good reviews and the graphics were very good even on the Commodore 64. The Commodore 64 did have some material cut out vs. the other versions but it is still a very large game, spanning four disks. The one other disadvantage of the Commodore 64 version is that the sound and music were rather limited. Sound is a strength of the Commodore 64 So I'm not sure why a better job wasn't done in that regard. I suspect it was a matter of time and budget. The only music is the intro theme and sound effects are limited and simplistic. Having said that, it is still a great game on the C64 and all other aspects were well done.

To play this game you can track down you emulator of choice and some disk images or you can just go to https://archive.org/details/msdos_elvira_ii_the_jaws_of_cerebus_1991 to play the DOS version via your web browser.

All pictures are related to the Commodore 64 version of the game.
