A little on pointillism

Pointillism is a technique, using a series of dots to create an image or to render an image. It takes time, and loads of patience, but the results can be incredibly impressive. In a pointillism painting, every part of the picture is done in tiny dots, and most of the dots are about the same size.

The theory or practice in the art of applying small strokes or dots of color to a surface so that from a distance they can blend together.

Unlike some art movement, pointillism has nothing to do with the subject matter of the painting. It is a specific way of applying the paint to the canvas. In pointillism the painting is made up entirely of small dots of pure color.

For pointillism, some special pens would be needed or you could use your normal pencil. With any drawing, you have to start out with a good line drawing, outline the contours of your subject, as well as the shapes of this e major shadows and highlights.
For the shadow, the widest size of pen you would be using is preferable so as to make it faster. But using pencil, make the dots thicker and closer. image image image
