the boom of 2022 that's about to happen for remote workers and co-working

most of us have been devoid of a third space for the last few years. the place that you go too between work and home, that little side place where you can take time out and work on that side hustle or project.

i was glad to have the opportunity over the christmas period to go to a few co-working spots in the states to test the vibe and take the temperature of what co-working is at the end of 2021 going into 2022.

what i'm seeing in the early stages is what will probably be an explosion of hyper focused spaces. places that shutdown in the pandemic due to lack of footfall suddenly picked up by coworking companies looking to expand their reach.

a simple alarm system, good quality camera system, high speed connections and robust office rules with sensible per desk or office pricing is often a good foundation to build a community around.

taking our free tour of one spot (which gave us four free hours to use at our leisure in different places) opened up our days when i needed to get some admin done in a relatively chilled out area.

the fact that they have coffee and food onsite as well, close to the city (nyc) and relatively easy to get too driving or on the train meant that we had pretty much nailed a good location for our airbnb too.

in 2022 i see co-working spaces do very well, people who been locked away for the last few years desperate to get out and mingle again, networking face to face, catching up on their projects, building behind closed doors and how they have adapted during this time.

it's a perfect time for places to have "subscription" model overhauls that include coffee -- you can even seen panera bread getting in on the action offering three months at $4.99 instead of $9.99 for unlimited coffee! they know it's the time to get people in early when restrictions lift.

like i posted yesterday with the shopping centres these built spaces are getting ready for you're time and attention and they have some great deals right now.

if you are looking to get a project going in 2022 you might find that taking time out and finding a good coworking space can change the momentum of your work if you can find a quiet space for half a day just to get things booked in to catch up with your remote developers.
