Born Again: Lessons from the Holy Scriptures Part III

Can you explain what it would be like to perform this new birth?

When we receive our Lord Jesus Christ into our hearts by faith, our "I" is not immediately replaced by a new sinless being, but then an incredible change occurs. This change is so extraordinary that Jesus describes it as "being born again" (John 5:5-7).

Paul says that we become new creatures, thus he describes: "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new" 2 Corinthians 5:17. The Holy Spirit, through the apostle Paul, says that the inner self has changed and is being renewed in such a way that the whole personality is created anew.

While the mechanics of this renewal is invisible and mysterious, its effects are enormous. Suddenly we attain life and a harmonious relationship with God. Romans 5:8-11. We also receive the power of the Holy Spirit that enables us (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) to overcome the sin nature we receive from our parents.

Although many old habits and problems of this adamic heritage still exist, we feel a new desire to serve, obey, and draw near to God.

My esteemed community thank you very much and may God bless you.
