This neutral attitude also means that the government does not subsidize prayer houses, religious communities, religious activities and dialogues between representatives of religion. That is also in the interests of the religions themselves. In this way, no religion can be pre-empted or subordinated by the government. That is precisely why every Dutch person has the freedom to believe what he or she wants.
We do not allow people to attack democracy, the rule of law and values on the basis of their religion. Sharia law is unacceptable.
