It never ceases to amaze me how incredibly motivating and debilitating pain can be until it riddles my life again with laughter atop spasms. I say laughter because that is my natural reaponse to pain; I find my own weakness to be amusing and humiliating all at once. Watching myself hunch over as I tilt my neck back in agony from the jolt of what feels to be hot metal poking through my ribs, I snicker at the thought that this must be my karma. Clearly something I've done has awarded me this opportunity to experience my neglected body parts in this way.
