A lenticular cloud is a lenticular (lentil) cloud, as its name indicates, or saucer, or convergent lens. These clouds are stationary, and are formed at high altitudes in mountainous areas and isolated from other clouds. They usually belong to the Cirrocumulus, Altocumulus and Stratocumulus forms.
