My first WSPR spots on 14 MHz with my brand new laptop (HP 15s) (2022.04.10)

22 days ago (on 2022.03.19) I tested 5 Watts WSPR-2 transmissions with my smartphone (Samsung Galaxy A12).

Today I tested the WSPR receiving and decoding with the WSJT-X v2.5.4 (64-bit) software on Windows 11 on my brand new laptop (HP 15s), and it works properly. The software decoded many stations. Most of them from Europe, one from Asia (Israel).

My transceiver: Yaesu FT-450D.
My antenna: D-Original Outback-1899 mobile antenna, directly connected to the transceiver in the room of my current rent.

There was one decoding error, which you can see on the screenshot below. That was not uploaded to the WSPR database, but of course the software uploaded the the successfully decoded transmissions to the database.

The WSPR is an opensource project, but you need to have a valid radioamateur license for transmitting. Anyone can receive with a PC/laptop, with a radio and with an antenna.

I am very glad and very happy to have this laptop (HP 15s).

More information (including the database and the above mentioned map) about the WSPR project can be found on the official website of this project: http://www.wsprnet.org.

Thank you for reading/viewing.

Have a nice day and have a nice weekend.
All the best. Greetings and much love from Hungary.
