Ex-MotoGP Champion dies in a horrific cycling crash

Irony struck the former MotoGPworld winner Nicky Hayden who expired five days after his bicycle collided in a car while training. Maurizio Bufalini Hospital in Cesena, confirmed the American motorcycle racer’s death on Monday.
The 35-year-old was admitted in the hospital’s intensive care unit and was reported of having suffered severe cerebral damage and “polytrauma” and which is a type of medical condition in which a person gets multiple traumatic injuries.
According to a statement given by the hospital, patient named Nicholas Patrick Hayden’s death had been confirmed by the medical team.
The racer of World Superbike team belonging to Red Bull Honda was hit by a black Peugeot when he had been training on Rimini coast in South Italy. The front windshield of the car too got smashed in the deadly collision.
An investigation has reportedly been opened by the judicial authorities. The 30-year-old Peugeot driver has been under questioning.
A tribute was paid to the American legend by his brother, Tommy, in which he thanked everybody on behalf of his family and his late brother’s fiancée Jackie for their messages of support. He also thanked the hospital staff for their kindness and care.
A pair of headphones have been found by the investigators that were connected to an iPad at the death scene. Hayden listening to music may be a factor of the fatal knock-off.
Good quality images have been found in a CCTV footage from the state-of-the-art surveillance system of a resident near the hit spot.
Paolo Gengareilli, Rimini’s deputy prosecutor, opened a file, since then, the incident is being investigated by the police. For the reconstruction of the accident’s dynamics, a police road expert named Orlando Omicini has been appointed. By mid-July, the reconstruction report is likely to be prepared.
Peugeot driver’s speed is yet unknown though he passed the breath analyzer test. The speed limit is set at 50kmph at the road where the mishap took place.
2006 MotoGP Champion’s fans and many other famous personalities like British MotoGP fame Cal Crutchlow took twitter for paying their tributes to the American racer.
The ‘Kentucky Kid’ had his MotoGP career spanned from 2003-16 with Ducati as well as Honda. He had registered 28 podium finishes and 3 victories in a total of 218 races.
Known for putting and end to the five-year win dominance of Italian, Hayden, last year has switched to World Superbike Championship where he ended fifth overall. Valentino Rossi, HaydenThis season, Hayden completed 13thas the Red Bull Honda team’s rider.
“He will be sorely misses by all that ever had the pleasure of meeting him or the privilege to see him race a motorcycle around a track, be it dirt or asphalt,” somebody stated.
