In 1975 there was a scientific journal called "Physical review letters" well known by researchers, physicists and scientists in general.
JH Hetherington was a physicist and mathematician who wanted to publish some very promising results about his research on physics at low temperatures, the problem was that a colleague who had read the article realized that it seemed to be written by two people, they had paragraphs beginning with:
"We Believe that..."
"We have reached the conclusion... "
and the error was repeated throughout the long article.
En el año 1975 había una revista científica llamada "Physical review letters" muy conocida por investigadores, físicos y científicos en general.

Hetherington era un físico y matemático que quería publicar unos resultados bastante prometedores acerca de su investigación de la física a bajas temperaturas, el problema fue que un compañero que había leído el artículo, se dió cuenta de que parecía estar escrito por dos personas, habían párrafos que empezaban con:
"Nosotros creemos que..."
"Hemos llegado a la conclusión... "
y el error se repetía a lo largo del extenso artículo.
Hetherington knew he wouldn't get published if he didn't change those mistakes, but this guy came up with another solution.
He listed his cat Chester as a co-author, under the alias F. D. C. Willard (Felinus Domesticus Chester)

Hetherington's plan worked, and the magazine never verified that the second author was actually Hetherington's cat, so it was able to get published without a hitch.

Years later what Hetherington had done was discovered, and both the magazine and the editors were not at all happy with the event, mainly because they thought it detracted from the magazine's credibility.
After it was known, Hetherington already jokingly signed the articles with his cat's paw.
