I have discovered these things called binaural beats around 6 months ago and shortly after that I started meditating. One thing for sure, it changed my life for the better. I find myself much more productive and in general much more happy everyday.

Basically our brains are always going trough different brain waves ranging from the Delta (lowest), Theta, Beta, Alpha and Gamma (highest) frequencies. When you meditate, you can learn to actually control these frequencies but it does take years of practice to attain this ability. This is where binaural beats come into play.

There are lots of variations of binaural beats and they can have different effects on your brain. Binaural beats can be used while meditating to relax the mind even further or they could be used to boost your creativity and focus.

For example, Gamma frequency beats which ranges from 40 Hz to 70 Hz, these binaural beats are associated with a sense of spirituality, joy and even increased intelligence. Have you ever heard of a term "The Zone" ? It's when you enter a state of massive focus and productivity.

"I'm in the zone man !". This term is mostly used in basketball when you start playing so good that you can't seem to miss a shot or just simply play really really well for a short time. That's called "The Zone" and it's said that your brain is currently at it's highest frequency - Gamma frequency.

Where as the lowest frequency Delta is associated with better quality sleep, helping with insomnia, deep meditations, feeling less pain and so on. Our brains enter Delta waves when we sleep.

Delta frequency binaural beats can help you enter really deep meditation and the so called deep trance.

When you listen to a specific frequency, your waves start to synchronize with the specific frequency you're currently hearing. And it's really important that you listen binaural beats with your headphones. Binaural beats send different frequencies to each of your ears. It doesn't work without headphones. You can even try and take off one headphone and you'll immediately see how different it sounds.

Sometimes when I listen to binaural beats and meditate, I simply space out and even stop hearing the beats for a few seconds. But then I realize something has changed and I start hearing them again. A state of trance, I think ? It's a fantastic experience and I wish I was able to stay there longer because even though it happens for a few seconds, it feels like I'm in a total different dimension !

You can find thousands of binaural beats on youtube. Here are a few examples:

You might find that some videos accompany those binaural beats with some relaxing music. That can sometimes help for even deeper relaxations and meditation sessions.

I've read a lot of peoples experiences with binaural beats and they are all different for everyone. Some can feel massive changes and some haven't experienced anything at all. So I recommend you to experience this by yourself and see what effects it has on your brain.
