EVIL PREVAIL BECAUSE THE GOOD REFUSE TO SPEAK UP

Many times we have found ourselves in a condition where we can either choose to please our friend, master, or family member and offend God or we please God and offend our loved one, especially those who are not comfortable with their faults being mentioned to them. In such a situation, taking decisions is always difficult. The fear of losing Job or friendship stands as a barrier towards standing up for the truth.

A typical example can be seen in our workplaces, where we witness ill-treatment of workers by the boss but are unable to speak up against the act. Another example is when we are aware of our friend's bad attitude but because we do not want to lose the friendship due to what we benefit from him or because we don't want him to feel bad, we keep quiet.

What then is the best approach in this kind of situation?

It is not always easy to speak up against someone of higher authority. Even when someone summons the courage to speak up, he is faced with the challenge of the right approach to use, such that it won't be misinterpreted.

There is a popular saying in my neighborhood that when the mouth speaks and the ear fails to adhere, then it becomes the fault of the ear but when the mouth refuses to speak, the ear is not to be held accountable.

Relating this to the subject of discussion, it is indeed our fault when we fail to speak up against evil, and the fault of the other person when he refuses to adhere to our words.

Most times, the person may not admit the fault in our presence but he has gotten the message. It is quite understandable when a subordinate is finding it difficult to speak up against ill-treatment by the master or someone of higher authority, but it shouldn't be the case among friends. A true friend should appreciate correction from a friend. Moreover, what's the point of having a friend who you are not happy with his attitude?

Saint Augustine referred to this as the sin of human respect. That is when we chose to offend God by not speaking up against evil just to please a friend, family member, or a superior. If we believe that this world is not our home and that God should come first in anything we do, then we shouldn't care about the aftermath of standing up for the truth.

*What does certified plagiarism-free mean?

As a result of our plagiarism review, we are confident that this post represents original unpublished creative work.

We are backing that confidence with a 150% curation-reward guarantee.

If you vote for this post and it is found to have been plagiarized (prior to the close of the voting period), we will coordinate efforts to zero out all presumed author rewards. However, that also zeros out all curator rewards. To protect our curators, we will fully reimburse any would-be curation rewards that were zeroed as a result of the plagiarism enforcement, and we will add 50% to it.

This guarantee applies to any curation rewards that would have been worth at least $1 at the time the payout would have occurred. For example, if your upvote was worth $2 in HIVE and $2 in POB, but was zeroed out due to plagiarism-enforcement, then we would reimburse you $1.50 worth of HIVE and $1.50 worth of POB.

What is Proof of Blind and how does it work?
