Steemit Vs Unemployment in Uganda

Could steemit be a solution for unemployment problem in Uganda? This question came to my mind last week as Makerere University students were graduating. In Uganda, almost forty thousands students graduate each year. This statistics made me run crazy. It made be realize that actually its not the illiterate that cause poverty in the country but in fact the university graduate. In most cases, these are the same people that cry for help and leads the country in unnecessary strikes.

No one of us has ever wished to be unemployed and this act can lead the country to various nefast actions such as theft and parasitism from some of the citizens. Should we blame the education system? Or the people ? I don't actually think. The point is only few people always grab the opportunity. In Uganda there are some funny slogans that move in the country '' Government etuyambe, meaning the government should help us. People are actually pleading for the government to give them jobs. In other words, the people have the knowledge and the expertise but selling them for almost free. People are all having dreams of working in big offices, near a cup of tea and every other pleasure that they imagine can be, while forgetting that only very few people can reach to the level in the country.

If you look at the Uganda statistics, among the forty thousands graduates, the country only absorbs less than four thousands. Now imagine being part of the four thousands selected without forgetting that there are those others that did graduate two, three or four years back. If i'm bringing these analysis, its because I know what unemployment means in Africa, specifically in Uganda. In Uganda, many students are sent from their villages. In other words, the whole house, family and even village members are all waiting for your support. Some graduates even decide to remain in towns and forget about their villages cause going back can be a shame in their villages.

Most people are unemployed. I mean these people can't even afford their daily expenses and are just over used by privates or public companies that give them almost nothing. The worse part is that these people are now deciding to risk their lives by trying to cross Africa and work in America, Europe and even Asia. It's sounds bad when you hear a University graduate is a slave in Libya or a housemaid in Qatar or Abhudhabi. Friends I do feel bad. Then why did they study, if they knew that things would end up like this?

Take a look on refugee that try to cross outside Africa, most of them have studied and some are even graduates. What could be the reason? Off course they are unemployment and can not afford to live a moderate life. But if we provide a way for them to live and start with little? This is the question that pushes me to write this article. Bill gates once said '' If you were born poor that's not your fault, but if you die poor that will be your fault'' This means that we have the ability to change this world. We are the change that the world long to see. We are the people that were meant to take on opportunities.

If steemit can bring you just 1 steem dollar, then why can't you join? I do ask my friends. Why should you cry for food yet you can make some little money while blogging. Steemit has just a simple formula '' post and earn. Period.'' I mean no stress or sweat and just speaking your heart and mind. Telling people about what you know and what you can contribute to the society. Simple as that.

Last week, Makerere University awarded degrees to thirteen thousands students. Oh my God, I just felt like, where are all these people going? Who is going to employ all of these people”? I just felt like may be I can do something to help. I did inbox each of my friends to congratulate them but also to join steemit and start earning little. Some of them responded and others didn't, but surely they will come after a little while. Most of them are still happy and optimistic, but CV's and placement letters will work for few, I'm sure they will come.

I'm not saying this to wish anyone bad luck but its our responsibility to project our future, to draw a picture of who we shall be in future time. Some of my friends who joined steemit 6 month back are now planning to buy a land or properties. These are the people that do encourage me also to work hard and be someone in the future. I believe in the power of steemit and I know that blogging can solve unemployment problem in Uganda. Our parents long to see us supporting them in their old days. They need some sugar from us and at least some suits for Sundays and village parties. That's all they want in Africa.

Let's give a try to steemit and try to motivate others to join. My job is to write articles and sending them to various social medias such as whatapp groups, facebook and other means to try helping the local community. I have started earning slowly and I would not wish to be quite. I believe that everyone can also do so. Everyone need to know what is happening in Uganda or around the world and this the place to do so.

Let's keep encouraging newbies. I did also joined 34 days back and I do keep pushing forward with steemit. I'm not payed for doing these promos but if you fall on good things you eventually share it with your friend. We should stop this habit of asking help from the government and in fact support government projects. We are steemit, the solution to African unemployment problems.
