A focused person(minnow) that can properly distinguish between important and urgent using the quadrant will always distinguish himself and attain his dreams(becoming a whale)

Oliver Emberton

The secret to mastering your time is to systematically focus on importance and suppress urgency.

It is undoubtedly true. Urgency brings productivity to its knees. Any task that is urgent but unimportant can be more of a distraction unhelpful. There are times where important tasks are glaring to you but you abandon them just to give attention to urgent and unimportant things.
As a minnow you need to reverse that because only then can you master your time, make appropriate and accurate use of it.

Your ability to distinguish urgent and important tasks has a lot to do with your success.

Important tasks are critical tasks that will yield the most productive and significant results. They are things that contribute to your long-term mission, values, and goals.

Example:-

Becoming a whale on Steemit is a tough decision that requires alot of Brain work, Money investment, Time investment, hard work and consistency to achieve. So you need to see as an important task
Urgent tasks are tasks that demand immediate attention, and most times they are usually associated with achieving someone else's goals.
Jory MacKay

Urgent tasks are tasks that have to be dealt with immediately.

Example:-

Most minnows get busy with the urgency of need to chat with friends on other social platforms that has added little or nothing to their financial status. They plan and attend parties instead of seminars and meetups.
The problem is that important tasks usually get trumped by urgent tasks.

Time is your most valuable asset

Time is the raw material of productivity and creativity. There are 24 hours every day. Let that sink in for a moment. That is thesame amount of time available to the poor and the rich, thesame is also available to minnows and whales. What are you doing with yours? Or better still where are you spending all those hours?

David Allen In his book, Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity says,

If you don’t pay appropriate attention to what has your attention, it will take more of your attention than it deserves.

For you to be productive in life and as a minnow you have to focus on getting a lot done with every minute you have at your disposal. You have to prioritize you tasks and allocate the appropriate time to each task you need to get done every day. Ensure to concentrate on these tasks and avoid being distracted by everything others expect you to do

Warren Buffett

You can’t let other people set your agenda in life

That is why you have to set your priorities as a minnow, push beyond your constraint and be consistent so as to achieve your dreams.

Thanks for stopping by and keep in touch for more updates towards achieving your steem goals. I remain my humble self @atare your brother and your friend.
