Welcome to my music blog. I hope you have a wonderful start to your week. I am pleased to share my trumpet interpretation of “Do You Want to Know a Secret”, a classic pop song by the rock band The Beatles, composed by John Lennon and performed by George Harrison. The melody has a smooth, flowing character, while the harmony is based on a I-IV-V chord progression. The rhythm is simple and steady with a steady 4/4 beat. The role of the bass is a fundamental anchor in the rhythm. This musical theme was included on The Beatles’ debut album, “Please Please Me” released in 1963, in the midst of the Merseybeat era, a British musical movement centered in Liverpool. The song is about the desire to share a secret with someone special and suggests a deeper emotional bond. I think it is the simplicity of the melody and lyrics that make it appealing even in these times.

Bienvenidos a mi blog musical.
Without holding anything back, I miss 3Speak. Although it is a more modest platform compared to YouTube and other video platforms, it represents a wonderful alternative for content creators looking for a more decentralized and rewarded experience within the Blockchain. One of the challenges of posting covers on YouTube is copyright filters and how they protect intellectual property. Sometimes partial matches occur, or public domain works are claimed as if they were owned by record companies, or there are even errors in the database. A while back I shared a classic song and the filter claimed it. I appealed, arguing that it was a public domain work, and my claim was accepted. Under the laws of many countries, a song can enter the public domain after 80 years or more. However, some artists who do covers under a music label can claim the copyright. I hope 3Speak consolidates soon and comes back. We miss you.

Do You Want to Know a Secret
[Intro]
You'll never know how much I really love you
You'll never know how much I really care
Listen
Do you want to know a secret?
Do you promise not to tell? Whoa, oh, oh
Closer
Let me whisper in your ear
Say the words you long to hear
I'm in love with you, ooh
Listen (Do-da-do)
Do you want to know a secret? (Do-da-do)
Do you promise not to tell? (Do-da-do) Whoa, oh, oh
Closer (Do-da-do)
Let me whisper in your ear (Do-da-do)
Say the words you long to hear
I'm in love with you, ooh
I've known the secret for a week or two
Nobody knows, just we two
Listen (Do-da-do)
Do you want to know a secret? (Do-da-do)
Do you promise not to tell? (Do-da-do) Whoa, oh, oh
Closer (Do-da-do)
Let me whisper in your ear (Do-da-do)
Say the words you long to hear
I'm in love with you, ooh
Ooh
