Los pensamientos críticos y creativos si bien son habilidades que difieren una con otra, al enlazarse ambas, han ayudado a enfrentar diversos obstáculos que el ser humano ha tenido a lo largo de la historia; gracias los mismos, se ha buscado innovar en las distintas herramientas que hoy conocemos, sean los celulares, el internet y así sucesivamente. Es que, todo parte de ese proceso de aprendizaje, donde se observa, se analiza, se interpretan y se ordenan esas ideas que se va gestando, bajo un juicio propio y que, a su vez, van creando instrumentos novedosos y adaptables a los tiempos actuales.
Por ello, en el momento en el que se formula esta pregunta: ¿Es posible tener una sociedad próspera y justa sin ciudadanos capaces de pensar de manera crítica y creativa? Que expone @eudemo en su Iniciativa: Las Humanidades en la formación de ciudadanos críticos mi respuesta inmediata fue un “no”, ya que existen muchas razones por la que necesitamos las humanidades en nuestro entorno, sin embargo la primordial seria, el razonamiento propio y, a través de él, se va ramificando, dando base a la originalidad, el dinamismo, la comunicación, entre otros.
El pensamiento crítico y creativo…
Primero hay que visualizar las diferencias de uno con el otro y así manifestar con mejor detenimiento lo que aportan; el critico es el que razona, básicamente, analiza la información de lo que tiene a su alrededor, para así darle su valor en ese contexto formado, mientras que el creativo, es el que genera nuevas ideas originales, busca a través de la imaginación, encontrar innovación en estas.
Aun con sus diferencias, son privilegiadas en compaginarse muy bien una con la otra, por lo que traigo en manifiesto esta cita de Crane (1983), citado en un documento PDF de Miller (2017) “cuando el razonamiento falla, nos salva la imaginación. Cuando la intuición falla, nos salva el razonamiento”.
En este sentido…
Se podían considerar las dos caras de una moneda, ambos nos ayudan a leer un problema: la realidad planteada y a partir de ahí, extraer las posibles soluciones.
Por tal motivo, las humanidades…
Son tan importantes que, más allá de habilidades deseables, son esenciales para preparar a generaciones futuras, en ello se construyen no solo el crecimiento personal y profesional, sino también a una sociedad envuelta en el dinamismo, preparada a cualquier cambio, es decir, adaptable a circunstancias posibles que tendrán lugar en su entorno, sobre todo a uno que se vuelve cada vez más tecnológico.
Un punto también a resaltar…
Más cuando hablamos de tecnología y es que, esta ha sido un enlace primordial para la evolución social, pero, a su vez, ha hecho que dependamos tanto de las mismas, que hemos olvidado como pensar por nuestro propio criterio. Ejemplo ¿Cuántos ahora no recurren a la IA para generar textos o ideas, más en el área social? Creo que casi todos, claro está, no es algo malo, porque ayuda a acortar tiempo y ser más eficientes.
Sin embargo, han sido también un inconveniente al momento de pensar por nuestra propia cuenta de manera critica, de ir mucho más allá que generar patrones repetitivos; es que ya no buscamos la manera en entender las cosas e interpretarlo según la percepción que proyectamos de estas. Lo que, a su vez, no permite crear seguridad en el individuo, profundizar en el debate que propicia estos nuevos retos y de formaciones más solidas y validas hacia la idea planteada.
En relación a esto...
Es saber manejar la tecnología, sin dejar las virtudes del pensamiento crítico porque, aun cuando el mundo viva en la fugacidad, imponiendo lo exacto sobre la compresión, de alguna u otra forma hay que defender e impulsar el pensamiento humano. En pocas palabras, hay que vender las humanidades como un bien común, ya que es el desarrollo vivencial participativo que promueve la adquisición hacia nuevos conocimientos, nuevas habilidades, actitudes y valores que ayudan a las llamadas STEM.
Asimismo, que la tecnología sea una herramienta que ayude a potenciar los argumentos que planteamos y organizar de mejor manera el tema abarcado, porque por mucho que el internet tenga las respuestas a todas nuestras interrogantes, hay que considerar que este parte de los razonamientos de otras personas, por lo que hay que adentrarse y reflexionar más sobre ellos. Es que es incomprensible que, las humanidades no sean abarcados en todas las ramas profesionales, más aún cuando se trabaja para alcanzar una mejora evolutiva se necesita a alguien en esta rama para que contribuya a reconstruir a presencias más complejas y delicadas que se afronta en la actualidad.
En conclusión...
Las humanidades permiten generar entornos no repetitivos, y enfocados en otras posibilidades muchos mejores, más efectivas y significativas. Necesitamos de las dos partes del cerebro para funcionar como una sociedad evolutiva; aun cuando las ramas científicas se acrecientan más cada día y se apoderen de la colectividad, las humanidades deben estar presenten para recordarnos que podemos ser mucho mejores y evaluar con mucha más notoriedad el porque de lo que sucede y a que queremos llegar.

Critical and creative thinking, although they are skills that differ from each other, by linking the two, have helped to face various obstacles that human beings have had throughout history; thanks to them, we have sought to innovate in the various tools we know today, whether cell phones, the Internet and so on. It is that, everything is part of this learning process, where it is observed, analyzed, interpreted and ordered those ideas that are being developed, under their own judgment and that, in turn, are creating innovative and adaptable instruments to the present times.
Therefore, at the moment when this question is asked: Is it possible to have a prosperous and just society without citizens capable of thinking critically and creatively? That @eudemo exposes in its Initiative: The Humanities in the formation of critical citizens my immediate answer was a “no”, since there are many reasons why we need the humanities in our environment, however the primary one would be, the own reasoning and, through it, it is branching out, giving basis to originality, dynamism, communication, among others.
Critical and creative thinking…
First we must visualize the differences between one and the other in order to better express what they contribute; the critic is the one who reasons, basically, analyzes the information of what he has around him, in order to give it its value in that context, while the creative, is the one who generates new original ideas, seeks through imagination, to find innovation in these.
Even with their differences, they are privileged to compaginate very well with each other, so I bring in manifest this quote from Crane (1983), quoted in a paper PDF by Miller (2017) “when reasoning fails, we are saved by imagination. When intuition fails, we are saved by reasoning.”
In this regard…
They could be considered the two sides of a coin, both help us to read a problem: the reality posed and from there, to extract possible solutions.

They are so important that, beyond being desirable skills, they are essential to prepare future generations, not only for personal and professional growth, but also for a society involved in dynamism, prepared for any change, that is, adaptable to possible circumstances that will take place in its environment, especially one that is becoming increasingly technological.
Also worth mentioning…
More so when we talk about technology, which has been an essential link for social evolution, but, at the same time, it has made us so dependent on it that we have forgotten how to think for our own criteria. For example, how many people nowadays do not resort to AI to generate texts or ideas, especially in the social area? I think almost everyone, of course, it's not a bad thing, because it helps to shorten time and be more efficient.
However, they have also been a drawback at the moment of thinking critically on our own, of going much further than generating repetitive patterns; it is that we no longer look for the way to understand things and interpret them according to the perception we project of them. This, in turn, does not allow us to create security in the individual, to deepen the debate that leads to these new challenges and more solid and valid formations towards the idea put forward.
In this connection...
It is knowing how to handle technology, without giving up the virtues of critical thinking because, even when the world lives in transience, imposing the exact on compression, in some way or another we must defend and promote human thought. In short, humanities must be sold as a common good, since it is the participatory experiential development that promotes the acquisition of new knowledge, new skills, attitudes and values that help the so-called STEM.
Also, that technology is a tool that helps to enhance the arguments that we raise and organize the topic covered in a better way, because as much as the internet has the answers to all our questions, we must consider that this part of the reasoning of other people, so you have to go deeper and reflect more on them. It is incomprehensible that the humanities are not covered in all professional branches, even more so when working to achieve an evolutionary improvement, someone in this branch is needed to contribute to reconstruct the most complex and delicate presences that we face today.
In conclusion...
The humanities allow us to generate environments that are non-repetitive, and focused on much better, more effective and meaningful possibilities. We need both parts of the brain to function as an evolving society; even as the scientific branches grow stronger every day and take over the collective, the humanities must be there to remind us that we can be much better and evaluate with much greater visibility why things are happening and where we want to go.
