Today is May 1st signifying an important event worldwide and an equally special one our hive blockchain. Today is International Worker's Day or Labour Day which means it is a public holiday in most parts of the world. This is a day workers are supposed to at least take a break and have a rest. Well, that is for public workers at least.
Being a National Service Personnel who has served for about 6 months so far out of the 1 year mandatory service, today is a public holiday for me as well. At work yesterday, we were invited to participate in the May Day celebrations at the jubilee park in Tamale and after, have a get together. Initially, I decided to go.
However, this morning, the time was somewhat changed which completely just removed my interest from this get together. I got caught up with my own stuff and before I even realized, it was passed time and so I just decided not to go anymore. It was a shame I lost interest considering I initially planned to go and was very interested. I have still had the chance to rest though hehe and have watched a few episodes of NCIS: Los Angeles.

Now that this nice midday rest before the weekend arrives, I will take the opportunity to rest some more and watch some more movies and champions league football this evening. Anyone else throwing their support to Mbappe and Paris Saint Germain? Champions league football is probably the nicest way to end this labor day of no work and plenty of rest.
It's the first of a new month which happens to be May. If you have been on hive for at least two months, you probably have heard of the hive power up day, HPUD. This is a day hiveans hold dear to their hearts because it is a day we show our love and support to the blockchain.
How do we show our love? It's simple. Just power up at least 10 hive tokens. Powering up these hive tokens means you are staking them and investing in your account. Remember that powering up enriches your account and increases its worth. The hive you power up is still yours.

So, this year, I decided I would try my best to take part in hpud throughout the year. So far, I have stuck to that and will be joining in again today. I won't be powering much this month. I will be powering just 11 hive tokens. At the time of writing this, my hive power stood at, 2,839.173 HIVE.
I wanted to power up 10 but seeing my hp at the time and knowing how I an, that non rounded number would disturb me and that is why I made it 11 to take my total hp to a rounded number. Is just me who loves rounded numbers?
