What is your community/contest and what is its purpose here on Steem?

Stach Discord Spoken Word or Stach dsw for short is a spoken word show and contest that holds on the Stach discord server every Tuesday by 8 pm GMT+1. It is a contest where users from all over, come together to listen in or share their thoughts through the art of spoken word.

It’s a unique show, not only because it provides an avenue for people to listen in and appreciate creativity, while simultaneously rewarding the creative commons who share their works of art via the voice channel. But also because it keeps those who enter into the contest on their toes.

In the sense that, these participants have to come up with fresh creative content in a short time. That’s because a theme of the week is released within a maximum of 12 hours before the show. This theme changes every week so it keeps participants on their toes and challenges them to tap into their inner creative self to turn out great contents.

The show is going to be 10 weeks old by this week’s Tuesday and has had a wide range of topics and numerous amazing entries. It has a tag, #stach-dsw, and you can follow it up to see the amazing entries for yourself

Steemit is a proof of brain platform, and what other way to show this, other than challenging users to leave their comfort zones, getting them to connect to a theme and produce amazing works of spoken word art--While also rewarding them.
Stach-dsw’s purpose here on Steemit is rewarding creativity while also providing an avenue for users to listen in, build relationships, appreciate and be inspired by the thoughts and opinions of those sharing their entries.

How much support are you seeking per month for the two-month period?

I would love to say 1000 steem as I believe this show to be an amazing project/contest. That way I could get a separate account and power up a portion of the steem so when these entries are published on Steemit, they can have an account that curates their entries. But I’ll step it down to 500 steem since there are a lot of background logistics still needed to make everyone’s opinion of this project/contest unanimous with mine.

How will this support be used?

This support would be used mostly to reward the creativity of those who participate in the contest. A larger portion would be shared amongst the winners and all contestants, as the show does not have the SP to give an upvote worth the creativity. A little token would also be used to reward the listening audience.

Exactly 25% of the support gotten would go for the growth of the project, as we are looking to have a video production team, so the participants can work with this team to create videos of their entries. These videos would then be published both on our dtube and YouTube channels, as we aim to spread the voiced and graphic message of these entries outside the walls of discord onto the world at large.

Another 25% would also be channelled to creating a curation account especially for spoken word entries both on and off the show. The steem would be powered up in the account.

Approximately how many users participate in your community or contest?

We have a total number of over 30 users (participants + audience) that have dropped by for the contest at one point or another. We have an approximate value of 8 users participating weekly and 15 users joining in for the show.

As news of the show spreads, there's an influx of people weekly to the discord server where the show holds. We have also had users drop text-based entries via Steemit.com using our tag, but couldn't count them as entries since it's a voice-based contest.

How will supporting your community or contest help grow the Steem community?

There are a lot of spoken word writers out there in the world, also a lot of poets out there too. This contest is creating a niche for these type of creative commons and also a means of rewarding them.

A YouTube channel would serve as a way of advertising this platform. Drawing those who are talented in this area and those who love listening to this art to the Steemit platform. Bringing in both the creatives and the investors.

A dtube channel and a curating account for just spoken word art would also encourage steemians to reach down and come up with creative contents, adding more creativity, originality and uniqueness to Steemit. By supporting #stach-dsw, the steem community and @curie can be assured of great original contents centred on a theme. Since the writers write on the topic for the week from the core of their heart and soul. Every show leaves us all better than we were before we attended.
