GladMort Enters Final Days of Successful Kickstarter Campaign

GladMort is entering the final days of what is already a successful Kickstarter campaign. As of this writing, the developers are on course to receive close to five times their initial goal. That is quite impressive, just goes to show, make something interesting and fans will show up, nearly 800 of them so far. If you are rocking the Dreamcast, PC, or Neo Geo (yeah, that Neo Geo) then you will be able to enjoy GladMort.

Long Live Retro Gaming

While I honestly do not believe the retro gaming world is as big as many want us to believe, I do know retro gaming fans are ferocious when they see a project they like. Probably more so than any other group, retro gamers are not scared to show that support.

GladMort is not limited to the platforms mentioned earlier. The Stretch Goal for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox digital versions has been unlocked ($120k Stretch Goal). That is great news for fans of retro gaming, or snarky 2D side scrolling action adventures.

GladMort Has More Going on Than Meets the Eye

Graphically, GladMort has a ton going on. From leaves blowing in pits to giant windmills turning in the background. I cannot skip mentioning the over the top animation for enemies when you dispatch them. Larger ones explode into pieces while smaller ones crumble in bloody bits. Attention to details like that, smaller things that are not always onscreen, matters so much.

Similar to Metal Slug, innocent people run off the screen rather than just fade out. There are tons of references to other games as well. Capcom’s Ghosts franchise is paid homage with tons of tombstones in one level. Huge 16-Bit Contra style bosses featuring mechanical machinations are here as well.

If you have not backed GladMort yet and are thinking about it, definitely hit up their Kickstarter campaign while you can.
