Contest: moon-shaped container

Hola.
Me gusta las lunas y por eso estoy acá, para participar de este lindo y creativo concurso que han lanzado este mes en #diyhud, para todos mi saludo y los mejores deseos en lo que queda de este mes tan hermoso y lleno de tantas emociones hermosas.
Estuve pensando en que hacer y me he decidido por un recipiente para echar los aretes usando algún material de provecho. A continuación, les nombrare los materiales que utilice y paso a paso como realicé está manualidad.

I like moons and that's why I'm here, to participate in this cute and creative contest that has launched this month in #diyhud, for all my greetings and best wishes for the rest of this beautiful month full of so many beautiful emotions.
I was thinking about what to do and I have decided on a container to throw the earrings using some useful material. Next, I will tell you the materials I used and step by step how I made this craft.

Tubo de cartón de papel higiénico
Cartón
Papel maché
Cola blanca
Escarcha blanca y amarilla
Pintura de olio
Barniz
Lápiz
Tijera
Pistola de silicón
Cartulina
Alambre de cobre.

Lo primero que hice fue preparar la mezcla de papel maché con agua tibia y la deje reposar envuelta en una bolsa de plástico, para que no perdiera la unidad mientras continuar preparando la manualidad.

The first thing I did was to prepare the paper mache mixture with warm water and let it rest wrapped in a plastic bag, so that it would not lose its unity while I continued preparing the craft.

Paso a preparar lo que sería la parte de adentro de la luna, picando el tubo de cartón con las tijeras , posteriormente realizo dos circunferencias en el cartón para sellar los extremos ayudada con el silicón, logrando así concluir el contenedor.

• Next, I prepare what would be the inside of the moon, cutting the cardboard tube with the scissors, then I make two circumferences in the cardboard to seal the ends with the help of the silicone, thus concluding the container.*

Luego corto una tira de 2cm de ancho para pegarla en la parte interior del tubo para poder cerrarlo y que no se abra.

Then I cut a 2cm wide strip to glue on the inside of the tube to close it and prevent it from opening.

Paso a darle forma al alambre de cobre con mis manos hasta lograr la forma deseada y luego, lo pego al cilindro con ayuda de la pistola de silicón.

I shape the copper wire with my hands until I get the desired shape and then I glue it to the cylinder with the help of the silicone gun.

Ya teniendo la forma deseada con el alambre comienzo a incorporar con cuidado el papel maché dándole la forma deseada que es lo más semejante a una media luna.

Once I have the desired shape with the wire I start to carefully incorporate the papier-mâché giving it the desired shape which is as similar as possible to a half moon.

En el extremo superior le coloco un pedazo de alambre y le coloco una estrella que también elabore de papel maché.Ya terminada las dos piezas las dejo secar al aire por tres días para estar segura, que la unidad no va a interferir con la pintura.

At the upper end I place a piece of wire and a star that I also made out of papier-mâché. Once the two pieces are finished, I let them air dry for three days to be sure that the unit will not interfere with the paint.

Me dispongo a pintar las piezas que formarán la media luna usando algunas combinaciones de colores para lograr la tonalidad que quiero.

I paint the pieces that will form the crescent using some color combinations to achieve the shade I want.

Las dejo secar por un día para asegurar que este bien seca. Uso una mezcla de cola blanca y escarcha blanca y comienzo a pintar con ello toda la luna. Después preparo otro poco de cola blanca con escarcha amarilla para las estrellas y pongo a secar una vez más las piezas que formarán la luna.

I let them dry for a day to make sure they are dry. I use a mixture of white glue and white frost and start painting the whole moon with it. Then I prepare another bit of white glue with yellow frosting for the stars and dry once more the pieces that will form the moon.

Para concluir mi contenedo en forma de media luna, con un pincel le pongo un poco de barniz y queda lista la manualidad.

To finish my crescent-shaped container, I put a little varnish on it with a brush and the craft is ready.
