Tired and exhausted: How do you cope?

Hello, everyone.

Sometimes, in order to meet ends meet, we have to work ourselves out, go beyond our limits, and exhaust every atom of energy in us. Especially in a country like mine where inflation has become the order of the day, individuals are expected to work two times their normal work rate before they can earn enough to cater for themselves and their loved ones. With this work load come burnouts; we are no machines, and sometimes to prove that we breakdown and our health fails us. Excessive stress is not good for health. Many people are careless about how tired and exhausted they are; they just keep going, and this forces their health to deteriorate fast.

Stress, which is the major cause of burnout, turns out to be a part of our daily lives. There is no day that we are not stressed, just that some days the stress is mild and on some days the stress is excessive. We cannot do away with the cause of burnout, which is why we can only adopt ways and methods to help cope and replenish lost energy. Our everyday activities tend to cause burnout; even activities we enjoy doing can drain our energy, and we cannot run away from them.

In order to stay in shape while working and going about our day-to-day activities, we must all adapt ways to help us handle burnout and overcome it quickly. Burnout can be defined as a situation where one feels exhausted, both physically and mentally. In many burnout situations, one's brains and body won't even be able to function like they would on a normal day. Burnout leaves you drained and longing for rest and rest alone.

Methods I've used to help me cope.

We all have different methods that we use to handle burnout. Methods of handling burnout are those things we engage in to help replenish our lost energy. It doesn't matter what you do; as long as it works for you, it is fine.

Take a break whenever you feel tired: whenever you feel tired and exhausted, take a break and don't force it. Once you are tired and you keep going, you leave room for mistakes when carrying out a task. Just let whatever task you are working on be; you can come back later after energy has been replenished and you feel a lot better. You can take a walk to help you ease off, or even hang out with friends.

Naps are good too. No doubt naps are good. I never liked naps as a kid because they interfered with my play time, but now as an adult, I grab every opportunity to take a nap that comes my way. Naps help especially the brain cool off; you wake up sharp and like you were not burned out before you took the nap.

Cold baths work too. In school, whenever I feel tired and exhausted, a cold bath is the first thing I do, and it works every time. It helps the entire body relax. After a cold bath, you can decide to just take a nap or get back to work; it all depends on how relaxed you feel after the cold bath.

There are so many other ways one can use to overcome stress; as long as it works for you, just go for it. There are different methods for different individuals; all that matters is that we were able to overcome burnout.
