Gambling versus Investment: How much I have risked in a bid to earn More

One way or the other, the aim behind gambling is to earn more. Now it is either we get greedy and, in a bid to earn some unreasonable/unrealistic gains, we end up betting so much or we try to play safe, risking a little at a time.

From another angle, the reasons behind choosing to gamble with our finances might be a bit genuine, but in most cases we are just in desperate need to multiple what we have so that we can spend it extravagantly.

Alot of folks want to live an extravagant lifestyle seeing that their neighbors and friends are living such lives. They get influenced and enticed to risk practically all they have, having been convinced that once the deal clicks they will "make it(making such huge profits in the shortest possible time), and it will usher them into the realm of abundance and extravagant life/living they desire.

When there is no genuine purpose assigned to why people want to get wealthy, there is a tendency to risk so much. For instance, if I want to make some money in order to build a community school, I will value every penny that is earned with that purpose in mind. Not in my wildest dream would I go the way of betting the money meant for such a purpose. Knowing fully well that seeking to multiply the funds for such a project in that manner is a futile effort that can lead to the loss of the entire funds, affecting the vision at hand.

People willing to have purposeful wealth do not gamble with their resources. They think twice before investing in any venture and are actively involved in keeping record of the calculative risk involved in such an investment. Gambling is never the way to go for such people.

Having seen the reasons behind why people gamble, you may want to look into the different ventures before you, seek to know the purpose to which you are seeking to learn more, then understand properly the risk attached to every investment.
Some investment opportunities actually present themselves in such a way that we will know for sure that we are only gambling with our funds. It is not necessarily until we go sport betting, play casino games, or are engaged in lottery that we are assumed to be gambling.
Where you put your money, how much you put, and the amount of risk you take at the time are all the factors to consider in some investments to determine if we are truly investing or just gambling with our funds in such endeavors.

Personally, I don't gamble in the real sense, especially with opportunities that are too juicy to be true. In a bid to earn more, I have taken some financial risk, even though a part of me was convinced that such an investment would end in a loss.

Can we call forex trading gambling?

I would call it gambling for a novice and amateur trader who, out of seeing professional traders profit, decided to input some good amount of capital. Professional traders can afford to play around with any amount of capital. I had once engaged in this investing some good amount into forex; the amateur knowledge had the money run down the drain, and in that moment I totally understood my desperation.

Gamblers are in a hurry to earn more, and my decision to invest with amateur knowledge indicated that. So yes I did gamble with my funds rather than investing it. Having lost a good amount of money in various ventures this year, I have learned to do proper research, buy a lot of time before making financial decisions to invest, and a lot more. There is but a thin line between those who are real gamblers and investors who are actually gambling with their finances in the name of investment
