Summer solstice- people and dog watching

Today everyone in the northern half of our planet will experience the summer solstice. It is the scientific start of summer and the longest day of the year north of the Equator.
And we are definitely having summer temperatures to start the season off with a bang!

After the summer solstice, the days will get shorter. The sun will appear lower in the sky each day until the winter solstice, on Dec. 21.

The arrival of summer has been celebrated for centuries and dates back to our ancestors in ancient times. This year the June full moon arrives tomorrow.

On the weekend before the summer Solstice, Andersonville hosts a Midsummar Fest and it is a great place to enjoy the start of summer and do a bit of people watching!

And dog watching, too!
