Pinterest is a photo-sharing and social media service that was first launched in 2010 and is owned by Pinterest, Inc.
It enables the saving and discovery of information (ideas) on the internet through images, GIFs and videos. The platform is a great source of creative ideas on various topics of interest including trends, crafts and DIYs among other things.
Users can follow others, create their own "pins" and "boards" where they can upload and save their own images or sourced from other websites.
"Pins" are basically bookmarks where users save contents they like. It includes either an image or a video and other information like descriptions, comments and or source website.
"Boards" are a collection where users save pins of specific themes and topics. Having these help increase engagement and views on the content.
As of December 2022, the platform is said to have over 450 million monthly active users.
The application is available for download for both iOS and Android via the App Store and Google Play respectively.
