How to get a Hive Account

Discord is a voice over IP (VoIP) and a free instant messaging social media platform founded by Jason Citron and was launched in 2015.

It allows users to communicate via text messaging, voice and video calls, share screen, media and files in private chats or as part of groups or communities called "servers" which one can join via invite links.

To register, one needs an email address and a username. A four-digit number called "discriminator" or "Discord Tag" prefixed with "#" is then automatically assigned to the end of each username.

The application is available on Android, iOS, iPadOS, Windows, macOS, Linux and also on web browsers.

Discord has grown popular over the years that as of 2022, its monthly active users is over 150 million and the weekly active servers has gone beyond 19 million.
