LeoGlossary: Book-Entry Only Security

How to get a Hive Account

A book-entry only security is not issued in physical form and does not have a physical certificate for each individual holder. Instead, ownership records are kept electronically and updated each time the security is sold.

Almost all municipal bonds, for example, are in book-entry only form.
