The currency for the country of Argentina. It was introduced in 1992 and had a 1:1 parity with the USD. Since that time, the country experienced massive bouts with inflation, even touching upon hyperinflation.

From 2002-2008, the peso had a 3:1 rate as compared to the USD. This jumped to 6:1 in 2009 and then reaching 10:1 in 2015.

In 2022, the official government rate was 131:1 with the unregulated market rate coming in at 298:1.

The currency is symbolizes with the $ sign in front of the numerical value. It is also recognized as ARS.

Centavos are the smaller denominations, with 100 making up each peso.
