Comedy Open Mic Community is back!

Greetings, everyone.

Some days back, a friend and I were having a conversation about the sudden 'death' of one of our most favorite communities on the blockchain, The Comedy Open Mic Community. It was painful that no one, at least around us, was aware of the major reason it disappeared. It's not that we didn't read the posts made before the ever-buzzing spirit left the community; we did, but the reason wasn't pinpointed.

We talked at length, reminiscing on how it used to be fun, reading 'nonsense' articles of members in the group, how we used it as a savior when writer's block knocked on the door, and mainly, the many friends we met in the community. It was amazing.

My friend suggested that we should make a proposal on behalf of the community's admin to OCD because they were the sponsors of the community, which I found interesting. But many things were considered, and at the end, I agreed to make the move, putting my account at risk because I don't have a firm ground on the blockchain to make such a proposal. - - I'm just a fish's sperm swimming around to be mated.

  • I'm not born yet, not close to a crayfish, not to talk of a whale.
  • My reputation is still at 69, waiting for some dangerous sacrifice to cross to 70.
  • I'm not on the favorite list of these whales as I struggle to get upvotes.

Man, my rank is just too poor to make such a move, but I accepted the responsibility to do that.

Early last week, I wrote an article-like letter containing a minimum of 1005 words with high-quality photos and submitted it to the OCD Discord channel.
Immediately I dropped the message, I ran away offline because I was afraid of the many "who's that's? What gave you the effrontery? Are you the community owner?" sort of bombardment. I totally went offline, and when I summoned the courage to turn on my data, a Discord notification popped out. I flipped it to check, and it was a response from their handle which read:

"Proposal acknowledged, we will get back to you."

My heart beamed with joy because it was totally opposite of what I was thinking. "Maybe a lady is in charge," this was what I thought.

I went on to log in to Discord to read it clearly, and to my greatest surprise, it was a bot that responded. My beaming joyful heart was cut short, and my face frowned so badly. But what can I do? I can't message twice, so I just let it be and hoped that they would come and read it and not be like bots we have on most Nigerian platforms.

That's how I left it unattended to. I didn't message again because I felt there's no need if the first one can't work a miracle.

Surprisingly , I got a direct message on Discord from OCD yesterday, saying I did well and they're ready to bring back Open Mic Comedy but on certain conditions, which are mainly on writing purely original comic and humorous articles which the community is made for, and members shouldn't go about ranting here & there because there's a community for that already.

So I'm using this opportunity to call on everyone of us who were once active members here. Let's get back to putting up original comedy contents and make the community buzzing again.
