Hello Black and White friends!...I hope you are all well and enjoying a good week... :-)

Hola amigos de Blanco y Negro, espero que todos estén muy bien y estén disfrutando de una buena semana...

The courtyards and gardens of my mother's house and my current house are connected to each other and you can go from one to the other without any inconvenience, as both houses are next to each other. This land has also been in the hands of our family for more than a century... So these patios and gardens are old and there are plants here that have been passed down from generation to generation. So you can always get a lot of diversity... Today I've been photographing some cacti then, and I want to share these photos as my today's entry to #monomad challenge! :-)

Los patios y los jardines de mi casa materna y mi casa actual, se conectan entre sí y se puede ir de uno al otro sin inconvenientes, pues ambas casas están aledañas una a la otra. También este terreno ha estado en manos de nuestra familia desde has más de un siglo... Así que estos patios y jardines son añejos y hay aquí plantas que han pasado de generación en generación. Así que se puede siempre conseguir bastante diversidad... Hoy me he dedicado a fotografiar algunos cactus entonces, y quiero compartir estas fotos como participación el reto #monomad de hoy! :-)

Cacti are in themselves a beautiful type of plant and are almost always full of photo-worthy details... But I think that by experimenting with shooting angles, you can make the cactus even better to photograph.

Los cactus son de por sí un tipo planta hermoso y casi siempre repletos de detalles dignos de fotografiarse... Pero pienso que si se hacen las fotos experimentando con los ángulos de capturas, se pueden lograr que el cactus sea aún algo mejor para fotografiar.

These pictures was taken using my old Tokina ATX-PRO 100mm lens, which is a lens designed for macros, this allowed me a good margin of manoeuvre to take the pictures.

Estas fotos las hice usando mi viejo lente Tokina ATX-PRO 100mm, el cual es un lente diseñado para macros, esto me permitió un buen margen de maniobra para hacer las fotos.

However, I didn't want to take proper "Macro" photographs, perhaps I will do that another day. The intention today was to keep a medium working distance, maybe between 40 and 60 centimetres away in most cases, so that I could get close enough to see a good part of the cactus and at the same time generate a sense of "drama" (Ok, that sounded weird for a cactus) ha ha ha ;-)

Sin embargo, no quise hacer fotografías propiamente "Macro", eso quizás lo haga otro día. La intención hoy fue mantener una distancia de trabajo mediana, quizás entre 40 y 60 centímetros de distancia en la mayoría de los casos, para así poder lograr acercamientos que permitiesen ver buena parte del cactus y al mismo tiempo genera sensación de "drama" (Ok, eso sonó raro tratándose de cactus) ha ha ha ;-)

I took advantage of the somewhat cloudy morning, to be able to take the pictures in that lovely even light provided by the grey cloud-filled skies... Also the brightness of the lens favoured me and I was able to work with apertures that generate enough depth of field, between F/8 and F/6...

Aproveché la mañana algo nublada, para poder hacer las fotos con esa encantadora luz pareja que proveen los cielos colmados de nubes grises... También la luminosidad del lente me favoreció y pude trabajar con apertura que generan suficiente profundidad decampo, entre F/8 y F/6...

It was actually almost 3 hours of fun taking a lot of pictures. In fact, I think I will prepare a couple of more posts with cactus pictures, because today I managed to get a lot of pictures but obviously, I have not been able to edit all the material.

En realidad fueron casi 3 horas muy divertidas las que invertí en hacerme con un montón de fotografías. De hecho, creo que prepararé un par de publicaciones más con fotos de cactus,pues hoy pude lograr un montón de fotos pero obviamente, no he podido .editar todo el material.

I wanted to make some insects shots... But today there seemed to be very few (I guess because of the cloudy day) and besides.... The cacti don't move!... That's better and more relaxing when taking pictures! :-)

Quise hacer algunas fotos de insectos... Pero hoy parecían haber muy pocos (supongo que debido al día nublado) y además... ¡Los cactus no se mueven!... ¡Eso es mejor y más relajante a la hora de hacer fotos!
