We Are Alive! September 9th, 2024 Hostile Territory

Most neighborhoods where I do my political doorknocking are friendly and mostly hospitable. I've been asked "Do you need anything" or "thank you for what you're doing" or "Do you want a water or something?" I appreciate all of these comments and sentiments.

But this time, not so much hospitality. Different area, different culture, different attitude. I call it NORTHERN HOSPITALITY. It's more like "what do you want, go away." or "not interested, go away." or just "go away". As if my very PRESENCE is offensive to them, before they even know why I'm there. They know nothing about me. Swatting at me like I'm a fly.

It's ok, i'm not doing this to be liked, but here I'm barely tolerated. When people answer the door, they do not smile, they have a sour look on their face. They tollerate my "pitch", but what I really want is a conversation, person to person. When they look at me like a "solicitor" (which I'm not), they stand there waiting for it to be over, as if I am draining their very soul.

I smile, I speak pleasantly, I do what I can to communicate that I'm not here to waste their time, or convince them of anything. Some information gathering, but nothing personal or intrusive. If they refuse, I move on. No pressure.

I don't care if you vote democrat, just be a decent human being. I'm not your enemy. Two party system is messed up anyway. And yes, there are crooked republicans too.

It's fine, I go all over the area and some are better than others. It's my job to be cheerful, not discouraged, confident and above all, respectful, pleasant and not annoying.

These are my neighbors. It's my job to love my neighbors.

Teach Your Children Liberty from Sin

We encourage parents to teach their children principles of Godliness, beginning with the Word and an understanding who God is and what His Son has done to form a relationship with us.

No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13

Teach Your children Liberty from Tyranny

Second to this is the principle of self-determination and freedom, lest we loose the ability to teach our children the first principle in future generations.

Our children read the Tuttle Twin books, specifically to learn libertarian principles, which most people learn later in life. These books are useful for our family, and yours, to teach children concepts that seem complicated, but are made simple in these books. I am an affiliate for Libertas Publishing, your purchase will help our family grow financially.
