My wife and I are precinct delegates for another term! I received 98 votes, my wife received 92. Given that there are three positions and three running, as long as we got some votes, we were in.
I've been door knocking for Ron Robinson, for the general election in October / November. But the primary does give some hints as to the base of the Democrat and Republican tickets.
I learned from this primary, that it's really an up-hill battle to get Ron Robinson (R) to beat the incumbent Nate Shannon (D).
Nate got 6.4K votes and Ron got 3.7K votes. If all the Goodrich voters vote for Ron, he would get 5542 votes, still not enough.
So my job is to get Republican voters to the polls in November! Encourage them to vote Ron Robinson. More people show up to general elections, so it's going to be a much bigger picture.
The only way Ron could win is if there is a massive turn-out in District 58 to vote DT for president. They usually will vote straight ticket.
This adds some energy to my door knocking! IF I can convince just 100 or so people to vote, it could make a big difference.
Having knocked on 3.7K doors myself, spoken with over 750 people, I would hope makes a difference!
