This is the #53rd edition of the "Week through Adrian's Lenses" weekly Hive and crypto news roundup.

Let's see what we have for this week.

Week on Hive

16 of 26 tracked posts made it to this week's issue of the "Week on Hive" roundup.

In the Spotlight

ThreeSpeak Is looking to incentivize 10 people who watch and vote for the Freechain movie and go through their steps. 3 more days!

@empoderat also mentioned he would incentivize voters.

Governance / Development / Dapps

Hive Core Dev Monthly Meeting

One thing that stood out for me is that Hive content started to be spidered by bots, and that led to the loading of the network. Blocktrades talked about that in the meeting.

Ecency Makes a Review of Its 2023

I haven't seen that done by many major apps on Hive, and maybe, given the short memory people have, they should come more often. Here's their review, broken down by months.

The Future of V4V.app Together with VSC

@brianoflondon describes how he sees the future of V4V.app, now that VSC has entered the picture.

Update on Flowdesk Proposal

I didn't know if I should add this to the games section since it's related to the Splinterlands DAO, or here. But given that liquidity is important for the entire Hive ecosystem, I decided to add it here.

The update mentions that the market-making services contracted by the Splinterlands DAO for the SPS/USD pair on the Crypto.com website are now in effect.

Marketing / Awareness / Branding

Changes to Reddit POSH sharing

With the participation of POSH as a component of the distribution of ZING tokens, more people became interested in sharing articles on Reddit to get POSH rewards. Therefore, any changes in the rules are important if you are doing that.

Games

Holozing Updates

I didn't even realize there were so many Holozing updates these past 7 days. Check it out.

First, the stats and financial report came out, then, Acidyo presented his thoughts on starter packs and what value they have inside, thus the cost. Then, several other starter items were revealed, and finally, they dropped the information that healers will be generative NFTs, revealed some existing options, and made a contest for more traits.

Rise of the Pixels Update

The game had another update this week with their dev progress and comments through beta.

They also started a lore-writing contest with packs as prizes.

Golem Overlord Added Achievements

Likely another element added to the game that will keep players active and thriving for higher, instead of farming, achievements were just added to GO.

Meetings / Events / Communities

CETAM - Crypto Coworking Place in Barquisimeto, Venezuela, Accepting HIVE and HBD

At first, I didn't understand exactly what it meant. After reading through the entire article, I understood, but still have questions. This is a place where people from different crypto spaces can work together, and Hive is one of them. I'm still not sure if they work to find common ground between projects and ecosystems, or if the location can be visited and each of them is hoping to attract new users. Here's the link to the article.

Philanthropy

Social Impact of Value Plan

@danielvehe describes 3 projects where Hive through Value Plan has made an important social impact:

  • Ghana Boreholes
  • the construction of a bakery to support a school for children with autism
  • Hive goes to School, aims to transform education by incorporating Hive into the curriculum

Week in the Crypto World

All Eleven Bitcoin Spot ETFs Approved

This news selected itself as the most significant one this week. And to underline its significance, I won't even attempt to add another one.

Even in the last 24 hours, things didn't go smoothly, and probably someone profited by an early Twitter announcement from the SEC that the ETFs were approved, which was soon denied by Gary Gensler on his account, who said that account was compromised.

On the second day, however, the inevitable announcement came, this time on the SEC website.
