Week through Adrian's Lenses (3-9 April 2023)

Week Adrian Lenses.jpg

This week, Splinterlands and Leofinance had many things going on. Following just what these two teams are up to takes enough time, especially when they are on a roll. :)

Let's see what we have for this week's roundup.

Week on Hive

Splinterlands Land Surveying Live

The long-awaited Land Expansion Phase 1.0 featuring mainly land surveying was released publicly on Tuesday. This is the announcement:

After @jarvie's proposal to distribute land SPS rewards only for surveyed plots passed at the beginning of this week, Splinterlands came with an additional proposal for the SPS stakeholders to decide what will happen to the land SPS rewards after Land 1.5 is released. The proposal is normal since they need a decision to know how to implement SPS rewards in Land 1.5:

Splinterlands: Genesis League Goals - Pack Opening Is Live!

This is too big an announcement to cram together with the other Splinterlands news. They reached the milestone for GLG that allows pack openings. This is the announcement and detailed explanations on GLG cards, their type and stats, along with the composition of a team, plus a special promotion at the end:

Splex.gg Team Have Their Own Little Game

On the model of the TerraCore game, the Splex.gg team came with their own game called Golem Overlord. It started out more polished than the original, and knowing the team, they will keep improving it if people are interested, so it may be interesting if you like the genre. This is their announcement after the launch, but they published a couple of updates in total:

HivePay Will Change Owners

The CTP team announced they are working with the @hashkings team so that the latter will take over HivePay from them. The CTP team has been focused on CTPX lately and feels HivePay needs a team that is dedicated to HivePay development. This is the announcement:

Another Shop in Sucre, Venezuela Accepting HBD

While this is not mass adoption (and governments of the world work hard to make sure the masses don't flock to crypto), adoption comes one person at a time and one proximity shop at a time. This time, a beauty shop in Sucre, Venezuela. I love that poster: "Aceptamos pagos en HBD".

Week in the Crypto World

This week I'll try to find positive news for the crypto-verse. We all know that when the FUD machine is rolling, it's hard to stop it, especially if it's on fertile ground.

Crypto May Become Cool(er) in Japan

The Prime Minister of Japan and his government party have a project called "Cool Japan" to promote technology in the country. In the mix, the crypto industry may benefit from a boost.

The logic is simple. You have an industry with potentially great applications in the future. Do you want companies linked to that industry in your country or not? Now you can see who is smart and who is dumb.

Bitcoin Whitepaper in Apple Mac OS Distribution

Various reports show Satoshi Nakamoto's whitepaper for Bitcoin has been included among Apple Mac OS distribution files for a number of years already, despite the company or top executives of Apple having a strong anti-crypto position for a long time. Does that mean anything? I think it does, even if the public policy of the company doesn't change yet.
